Last June, the first edition of the Asian Street Food Festival took place at the Grande Pagode de Vincennes, near Paris. This project was initiated by Evaan Market, which promotes and distributes Cambodian products in France, including those of Confirel, Banh Mi Podcast and the Association des Jeunes Chinois de France.
“We have the same vision and the same goal,” said Dara on Evaan Market website. To make our voices emerge, that of this new generation of Asians with a double culture. To be able to highlight our origins, our wealth, our cultures. And with this festival, it’s a step forward that we made. When I think about it, it’s both crazy and simple. In the space of a month, and starting from scratch, we did it. Valentine and Linda contacted the restaurant owners, and they were all motivated and excited about the festival. For some, it was their first experience serving outside. It was a new challenge for them, a way to push their limits. They gave their best, in a joyful and good mood. Many countries were represented in the stands, even if we had some absentees. This is the objective of the next edition: we will make sure to represent everyone.
